Packing Sand
A fine packing sand for bedding pipes, filling trenches and levelling under paving.
Packing sand is a fine, easy-to-compact sand used to bed pipes and cables, fill trenches and level under paving. It cushions and supports pipework so backfill does not damage it, which is why it is standard in trenching and drainage work.
It also screeds into a smooth, even layer under pavers and slabs. Because it packs down tightly with a little water, it holds its shape and gives a stable base.
